Samsung has been too busy on Android to focus on Windows Phone products. Microsoft recently rebooted the Windows Phone 8 mobile OS and it gave a Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade for the unfortunate WP 7.5 devices. Nokia was seen testing the WP 7.8 update on its Lumia 800. There was however, no signs from Samsung about any WP 7.8 update.
Microsoft had mentioned that all the WP 7.5 phones would be upgradable to WP7.8. But it was not only for Microsoft to decide. LG Optimus 7 users were left in the Mango world after LG announced that WP 7.5 is the last OS version that Optimus 7 would be seeing. Ever since that confirmation, Samsung Omnia W( Focus Flash ) users have been skeptical about a WP 7.8 update. But Samsung has confirmed that all its WP 7.5 devices will be upgraded to the Windows Phone 7.8 update though it failed to give any sort of timeline.
Nokia has been on the front with WP 7.8, announcing a few entry range smartphones like the Lumia 510 and Lumia 505 for early 2013. There have been no leaks about Samsung WP 7.8 devices and we are left to wonder if there will be any. Only time will tell.
